ERASYS Consulting, as an IT consultant, has collaborated with several renowned brands through website development projects and conducted SEO performance research on viral local skincare brands. Comparing the Domain Rating (DR), Organic Keywords, and Top Pages of four local skincare brands, namely Scarlett, Avoskin, Somethinc, and Azarine, competitive numbers and a lot of potential to improve the SEO performance of these brands were found.
From the DR perspective, Scarlett leads with a DR of 46, followed by Avoskin with a DR of 42. Both brands excel in DR and organic traffic numbers. Avoskin attracts 61,989 organic traffic, while Scarlett receives 53,666 organic traffic (based on data from May 2023). This is in line with the notion that increased website traffic influences DR improvement. However, DR can also increase with an effective keyword strategy.
On the other hand, Somethinc and Azarine excel in terms of Organic Keywords and the number of Backlinks. Azarine has the most organic keywords, totaling 9,052 keywords, while Somethinc has 8,284 organic keywords. However, it’s essential to note the quality of these keywords since both brands that excel at organic keywords have lower organic traffic. This implies that these keywords might be less relevant to the target audience.

Through this research, it can be concluded that brands with a strong media mix and a wide target market can attract high organic traffic and have a strong DR, even if other aspects are not as high. On the other hand, brands with a high number of Backlinks do not always have a strong DR, as there might be blackhat practices involved.
